A Sky Full of Stars

Watcher Star (Beauty)

Incoming_Transmission: Hello explorers. After only a few weeks, the First Era of Lvcidia staking has proved to be a tremendous success. New stars are being crafted daily, and resources are constantly being exchanged on the open market. The enthusiastic response from the community has been incredibly motivating for the team. You all continue to astonish us, and we’re sure there are more surprises in store. Together we’ll build a universe that shines brighter than any before.

In times of great uncertainty and fear, rest your eyes and escape the waking world

STAKING — WEEK 3

These first 3 weeks of staking have gone by in a flash, as our community continues to prove they are the best in the space. At the time of writing, there are now 49 stars created in the Lvcidia ecosystem. In order to create those stars, 16 ETH has been spent on resources in the OS secondary market (royalty-free!). The community has truly wasted no time diving right into what we’ve built. And as the Era has progressed, we’ve received an abundance of useful feedback from you all on how we can improve staking and alleviate any confusion. We’ll touch on those points more in the sections below, but for now there are two primary points we’d like to address.

ON RESTAKING: Each week when your 7 day staking cycle ends, your NFTs are put on idle. In order to continue earning resources from your NFTs, you will have to restake them. While we realize this might be frustrating, we have designed it so restaking your NFTs comes at no additional cost. And in future eras of staking with the addition of more staking fields, you will want to have the opportunity to change where you stake your NFTs each week. For now, we’ll do our best to send out reminders to ensure you all earn the resources you deserve.

ON UNSTAKING: You never need to unstake your NFTs. In contrast with your NFTs naturally going on idle at the end of a staking cycle, unstaking your NFTs is something you should only do if you intend to stop staking completely. Unstaking your NFTs while a cycle is in progress will wipe all harvested resources from that cycle. Your resources are only truly safe at the end of a cycle, when they move into the “unclaimed” category as opposed to “harvesting”.

ON CLAIMING: Claiming your resources is not a free transaction, so we suggest you only claim when you intend to craft a star. Each week your earned resources will continue to accumulate, regardless of if you claim them or not. We apologize for any confusion on this and suggest reading the FAQ if any further confusion arises.

FIXES/IMPROVEMENTS

The team has been working nonstop since launch making whatever improvements we can to the staking experience. We discussed a few of those in our last newsletter, and since then have even more to convey. With staking V.1.0.1, a variety of UI/UX changes were made: earn rates now display next to staked NFTs, the global economy page now has 3 columns with tooltips for added clarity, resource values now display with an M (million) at the end, staked NFTs now have a percentage bar, and more. On November 9th, V.1.0.2. went live, which allows the community to view how many stars of each type are available to craft. Official links to buy resources and stars also display on the staking website now, to ensure safety when purchasing. We know it is still not ideal to buy resources right now on OS due to the quantity, so the team is developing a smoother process to facilitate that.

THE FIRST STARS

A point of discussion with the team during our most recent Fvck Monday (recording unavailable) was the creation of the first stars. When a star is created, the owner has the opportunity to name it. The process has proved to be entertaining, with some members of our community choosing to be more artful (e.g. Leo, or The Silver Lining), while others lean into memes (e.g. Star, 420, 69). When asked how he felt about the stars that had been brought into existence, Fvckrender expressed nothing but love for the community for participating so actively in Lvcidia. We’re creating this universe together, so it’s only natural that stars be a reflection of our community’s vast array of personalities. So long as you’re all enjoying yourselves, and not doing anything to further hate/violence, then we’re happy to grant you the freedom to experience Lvcidia however you wish.

To commemorate the achievement, here are the first 10 stars that were created in the Lvcidia ecosystem in order:

1. 420 created by — -_ — –

2. Black Titanium Star 1667520251 created by Adastros

3. Frogheliumeronie created by Fvckrender

4. Hydrogen Star 1667520311 created by Free-Hy

5. Hydrogen Star 1667523875 created by Adastros

7. Masongos Hydrogen created by 764EF1

LORE AND LVMINANCE

With the launch of staking, some mysteries of Lvcidia have been solved while others are yet to be uncovered. On our socials, we’ve begun posting lore for each of the stars that will now become mainstays of the Lvcidia ecosystem. With this focus on stars, we have also received many questions on Lvminance: the measure of brightness associated with each star. Lvminance is not a resource to be bought and sold; it is a value we’re tracking on an individual and communal basis. For the individual, the Lvminance of each of your stars is added and ranked on a global leaderboard. Once we reach our collective community goal of 177,000 Lvminance, Lvcidia will expand…

AVATARS OF THE WEEK

With new motivation to burn Essence, more and more Fvck Avatars are being created each week. We are only a few hundred away from the major milestone of 10,000 Essence burned. The market is drying up fast, and soon enough only a lucky few will have a chance at minting one of our 15 new Handmade Avatars being added to the collection later this year. Coordinating with such a diverse array of artists has required quite a bit of planning from the team, so we thank you for your patience. Once all the new Handmade Avatars are ready, we’ll ensure their addition to the collection is an unforgettable event. And just a reminder: in future eras of staking, Handmade and ultra-rare avatars will have much greater benefits.

In the meantime, here are our favorite new avatar reveals of the week!

GIVEAWAYS

Thanks to the donation of community member TALVIR, we were able to host a giveaway in our Discord last week for 10 million of the most coveted resource: Obsidian. We’d love to do more resource giveaways in the future for our loyal Discord community, so be sure to check in regularly for a chance to win. With team member Bonglo’s assistance, we also regularly host collector’s only giveaways for mint spots in projects that interest us. This week, our friends at HUMANKIND provided our community 30 pre-sale spots for their highly anticipated project by the artist Pablo Stanley. Thank you to their team, we wish them the best of luck with launch!

Additionally, Fvckrender provided the most prolific Lvcidia collectors with early access to his first ever physical editions: TOUCHED// and FEEL//. Released by Avant Arte, these masterfully constructed sculptures each come with an accompanying NFT. There are only a few left available, so if you would like one be sure to act fast.
