We are pleased to announce that LVCIDIA has partnered with The Artifex Project in the creation of a new marketplace for digital fine art. While the current NFT space has no shortage of platforms, few have been truly art-oriented. Our artist-led platform, founded by Fvckrender, will create a space that allows digital artists to unleash their full potential.
Utilizing the tools developed at LVCIDIA, we will build a 3D-native platform that will offer immersive exhibitions for both up-and-coming and established creators. Artists hosted on the platform will be able to work with our team in designing unique releases that take full advantage of the medium. Additionally, in support of our artists, royalties will always be enforced on secondary sales.
Overview of LVCIDIA
At LVCIDIA, our goal is to create a lasting shift in the art landscape. Our 3D immersive platform will serve as a cultural destination where artists can create monthly Experiences. These will be opportunities for everyone to explore themes important to the artists — a journey of collective discovery and self-growth. And for the collectors who connect deeply with those awakening Experiences and wish to own them, a very limited supply will be sold each month. By connecting art collectors and purposeful artists with our tools built on the blockchain, we will elevate the arts to new heights.
Overview of Artifex
The Artifex Project launched in 2021 with a clear goal: find, retain, and preserve the substance of fine digital art. At the time of Artifex’s launch, NFTs were experiencing an unprecedented surge of interest. With such high sales volumes, however, the major platforms began losing sight of what was important. Money triumphed over art. Artifex founder Roger Dickerman faced this problem head-on, creating a project with longevity as its founding principle. With limited edition sizes, strong smart contracts, and metaverse interoperability, Roger wanted Artfiex to serve as a time capsule representing the best the NFT space had to offer.
With their shared core values — an artist-first mentality, and a desire to promote the best of digital art while retaining its substance — Roger Dickerman and Fvckrender were a fated match. Fvckrender had actually shown the earliest version of Lvcidia to Roger, prior to launch, when it was still called “Fvckrenderverse”. With a long history of mutual respect and support, they look forward to channelling their collective energy into creating a platform which will redefine the space.
Outcome of the LVCIDIA Artifex Partnership
The Lvcidia x Artifex partnership allows for a range of exciting collaborative opportunities. The tools we have tirelessly developed at LVCIDIA for over a year — Staking, Finery, Physical, Digital and now Marketplace — will elevate the artist and collector relationship to the next level. And these tools are now ready to be utilized by Roger Dickerman and his team at Artifex, who have perfected the artists’ releases pipeline, to create meaningful LVCIDIA Experiences. Finally, Artifex will be able to assist us in building the immersive components of those Experiences using Unreal Engine since they already have the team and knowledge to do so. As we embark on this journey together, we aim to usher in a new renaissance of digital art.
Timeline
We will be launching our marketplace in 4 distinct phases, not defined by time periods, but rather by clear goals we want to achieve.
- Phase 1 will be the official launch of the LVCIDIA marketplace using the Manifold Studio tool. The Experiences will all be hosted on our LVCIDIA website, and only primary sales will be supported.
- Phase 2 will involve the direct integration of the smart contracts on our website to streamline the user experience. We will also add additional launch mechanics in this phase for our artists to utilize, all with the help of Manifold.
- Phase 3 includes the highly anticipated relaunch of the LVCIDIA Unreal Engine project, with the Experiences finally living on in our 3D immersive platform.
- Phase 4 will provide a full Unreal Engine-based marketplace with primary and secondary sales supported and enforced royalties.
Conclusion
LVCIDIA and Artifex believe that the potential for NFTs is much greater than what current platforms are allowing. There is room to provide a more immersive experience, centered around improving the lives of artists and telling their stories, rather than simply buying or selling.
